I must start this by letting everyone know that I will not be answering emails for about a month from May 25 as I am heading back to Australia for a while. It will take me a bit of time to get organised but I shall get round to answering any enquiries eventually so do still email me in the meantime if you like.

Anyway, before I leave, I will get to see the final colour layouts for the new book, Making Vintage Accessories. Despite a few hiccups along the way, the book still looks set to be published in September, which is great news. As soon as it hits the bookshelves, I shall post photographs of some of the accessories in the book alongside a few snaps of new designs I am working on for the pattern range.

Spending the past six months in the UK has enabled me to source some terrific fabrics for the pattern sample pieces, including Harris tweed in beautiful muted colours. I can't tell you how much I love tweed and the idea of making something pretty out of such a hard-wearing fabric. I have also used some gorgeous fabric from Melin Tregwynt for many of the samples. The bag below is made from one of Melin Tregwynt's most popular patterns 'Mondo' in the orange colourway. The 50's inspired bag will be available as a PDF sewing pattern early next year.

I have also decided to produce some e-booklets of my jewellery designs. The first couple will be about making jewellery using buttons and textiles. The necklace below is from the button booklet, which will give tips on everything from drilling and wiring buttons to creating settings.

I think the bag and necklace look really great together. I was never a big fan of orange, but this fabric combination is a winner and the buttons work well with brass findings. Anyway, that's all for now. I will update the website with news and dates as soon as I get a chance.
